We really enjoyed our 3 day mini vacation at Golden Bear Cottages. The beds were new, the cabins were clean and the amenities were fabulous. We had a kitchen stocked with everything. The beautiful rock fireplace was perfect and the decorating was just what we had hoped for in a rustic mountain cabin. We even had hand-made flower arrangements and a wreath for the holiday. This is the kind of resort you want to return to with your family time and time again. Thank you!

A historic mountain resort that's clean! Six acres of beautifully decorated cabins in a relaxing forest setting. Each cabin has it's own space, private parking and patio areas. We enjoy the private BBQ and especially the 'Family Movie nights" on that big sreen TV at the pool. We have been going to this fine resort for six years, and we will be back again. Just spent four nights! Outstanding! Great cabin, the grounds were beautiful, clean air, starlight nights, what more could you ask for! Bottom line: we will return

If you live a hectic life like we do, you are desperate for a place to get away. The only problem is that it has to be close enough not to wear you out trying to get there. Well, Golden Bear Cottages in Big Bear Lake solves our need. We have returned many times over the past 10 years, and each time the owners have made it a little nicer. It always has that historic cabin look, but this resort is clean and the same people are always there to greet you. The owners always remember our names and make us feel ready to relax. We just got back yesterday, and I am ready to go back already. I can hardly wait for our weeklong summer vacation there. Thank you to all.

We spend every aniversary here at Northwoods Resort Hotel, this is our 20th,the restrant is supurb and at a great price,and walking distance to down town,lots to do on foot.

The Northwoods Resort in Big Bear Lake was a great place to stay. The room was very large and had a nice seating area. This area opened onto a patio which had a table where you could sit outside. It was close to the pool and had a beautiful pond nearby. The room was very clean. There also was a great lobby to the resort with a comfortable area to sit by the fireplace. I loved being so close to the town that we could walk to all the shops.

We loved our two night stay in room 449 (a suite).

The Northwoods Resort hotel has a true rustic feel without comprimising in cleanliness, service or comfort. We had a fireplace in our room, jaccuzi tub, kitchenette, King bed, beautiful views - all for about $250 a night. Compared to most of the other hotel offerings around Big Bear, this is a cut above.

Convenient, easy to walk, fun. I just like the place what can I say. Want to go back to Big Bear Lake and the Northwoods Resort hotel soon, but soooo many places to go. We stayed on the top floor. Fun, quaint.

"We just returned from our 4 day stay at Golden Bear Cottages. We had a great time. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect size and had almost everything you could think of stocked in the kitchen....from pots, pans, spatulas, baking pans, coffee pot, flatware, dishware, I can go on and on! I contacted Golden Bear Cottages in behalf of my husband and his strike team who were fighting the Butler 2 fire. His team, consisting of 22 firefighters with 5 engines was in need of a good nights sleep after sleeping in parking lots for three nights. The folks ar Golden Bear Cottages could not have been more helpful. They set aside enough cottages to meet the firefighter's needs and in addition offered them rates that were affordable. Friends meet at Golden Bear Cottages every year. This year we had 11 cabins. We BBQ and party while catching up on the past year in each of our lives. This resort has the right size cabin for each size family. Every year the group grows because the members have such a good time. The cottages are always clean and the staff sees to our every need. My family stayed at the Golden Bear Cottages this past weekend in one of their beautiful jacuzzi cottages. We absolutely had the best time we have ever had on a weekend get-away! The entire staff was courteous and very caring. The cottage was very tastefully decorated, clean, and so very comfortable. We were so warm and cozy after our snow play on Golden Bear's property as we sat by the roaring fire. An added benefit was the fantastic 3 person jacuzzi in the cottage. What a way to relax! Each of my children got a Golden Bear souvenir in the gift shop. We have already booked for next month, hoping to get in as many times as possible during the snow season at Golden Bear.

The most wonderful place we have ever visited! The service was superb and the cottages were absolutely perfect. Each and every cottage is a blend of comfort and mountain decor. My family and some of our friends stayed in several of the cottages, including the ultra-luxurious Golden Bear Manor and the beautiful Bearberry Manor during the Christmas holidays. We were treated like Kings and Queens by the front office staff and the very courteous maintenance and housekeeping staffs. All of our requests were taken care of promptly and with a smile. Golden Bear offers every imaginable amenity for families and groups. We are already planning a reunion for our family next summer at Golden Bear, and plan to make it a yearly event. We even booked our 2007 Christmas reservations before we left!

Golden Bear Cottages resort is the only mountain retreat we have ever liked well enough to return to, and we do return a couple of times every year. The owners always treat us special. The grounds are always being improved, and the historic cabins are tastefully furnished. The houskeeping staff (our favorites are Lynn and Alison) is so friendly and they keep the cabins very clean and tidy. You will not be disappointed with the superb service and family atmosphere.

I returned last week to Golden bear Cottages for the first time since I was a child. I had so many wonderful memories of going to the cabins with my family. This time I went with my husband and baby. We just came back from a fabulous retreat to the San Bernardino National Forest and to Golden Bear Cottages. Our whole family really needed some R & R and we got it at Golden Bear. The staff was so helpful. My husband is in the military here, and the owners of Golden Bear treated him with the kind of respect he really appreciated. Many of our friends now know about the special place.
